The Perito Moreno Glacier is one of the most impressive glaciers that detaches from the southern ice field and is recognized worldwide for its ease of access and also for its large number of detachments that can be seen. This glacier has a front of 5 km and a height of over 60 meters above lake level. It also has a network of viewpoints and trails of more than 3 km, where you can have the best views of the entire front and bottom of the glacier.
Geographical Data of Perito Moreno
It is part of Los Glaciares National Park, has an area of 726,927 hectares and is located in the Patagonian steppe eco-region. The climate is temperate to cold. Average temperatures range from 0.6° C in winter and 13.4°C in summer. Therefore, the ideal season to visit is spring, summer and early autumn.

You need to be at 6.00am in the office in puerto natales.

Arrival to el Calafate city, and then we continue to Perito Moreno 60 kilometers distant. (There is no contemplated a turistic stop in Calafate).
Entrance to the park, where you will stay for about 2 hours. The 3 km trail sector is covered with the best views of the Perito Moreno Glacier. Exist the optional possibility of taking a 1 hour catamaran excursion to the glacier wall (not guaranteed). In this case, you will have between 45 minutes to 1 hour to do the trail with glacier views.
