The Agua Fresca Horseback Tour offers a unique way to connect with nature and explore Chilean Patagonia’s southern landscapes. This guided horseback ride takes place in the Agua Fresca area, just south of Punta Arenas, with stunning views of the Strait of Magellan and Patagonian coast.
The tour starts with a welcome and safety briefing to get familiar with the horses and equipment. After that, the horseback ride begins, crossing coastal trails and native forests. During the ride, you may spot seabirds, local plants, and wildlife typical of the region.
The ride lasts about two hours, allowing time to enjoy the scenery, take photos, and experience the calm of nature. The pace is adjusted to participants’ experience, so it suits both beginners and experienced riders.
To enjoy the Agua Fresca Horseback Tour, wear comfortable clothes, closed shoes, sunscreen, and a windbreaker. The activity runs all year, but warm clothes are suggested in autumn and winter.

We go to each person accommodation place in Punta Arenas, then we transport 30 km south to Agua Fresca Estancia, where the local guide will wellcome us and give us a security talk for the riding.
The ride begins by crossing the Aguas Frescas river, to then start a 40-minute ascent through abundant native forest areas, to reach a viewpoint with an extraordinary view of the Magellan Strait and Tierra del Fuego Island. Continuing with the route we begin a descent until we reach the coastal edge and start the return, connecting in a few minutes with the beach to end our journey back at the ranch.
We finish our activity in this place enjoying a delicious tipical ranch meal with characteristic products of the farm.
Return to the city of Punta Arenas.
