About this tour

Alberto de Agostini Glacier Tour from Punta Arenas

The Alberto de Agostini Glacier Tour is one of the most spectacular navigation experiences in Chilean Patagonia. This full-day expedition takes travelers through the legendary Strait of Magellan to discover remote fjords, impressive glaciers and some of the most breathtaking landscapes in South America.

Departing from Punta Arenas, the journey combines history, wildlife and stunning scenery. In addition, visitors have the opportunity to explore one of the most remote and pristine regions of Patagonia while navigating through channels surrounded by mountains, forests and ice fields.

Alberto de Agostini Glacier Tour through the Strait of Magellan

The adventure begins with a navigation along the historic Strait of Magellan, the maritime route used by Ferdinand Magellan during the first circumnavigation of the globe.

As the journey continues south, passengers enjoy panoramic views of the Brunswick Peninsula and the rugged coastline that characterizes this remote corner of Patagonia.

Cape Froward and the Cross of the Seas

One of the highlights of the Alberto de Agostini Glacier Tour is Cape Froward, recognized as the southernmost point of the South American mainland.

At the summit stands the famous Cross of the Seas, an iconic landmark overlooking the Strait of Magellan and one of the most recognizable symbols of southern Chile.

Alberto de Agostini National Park and Its Glaciers

The navigation continues into the spectacular Alberto de Agostini National Park, part of the Route of Parks of Patagonia. This protected area preserves vast ice fields, dramatic mountain ranges, fjords and glaciers that descend directly into the sea.

During the expedition, travelers can observe several glaciers while enjoying outstanding views of Mount Sarmiento, considered one of the most beautiful mountains in Patagonia.

Furthermore, the park offers an exceptional opportunity to experience untouched wilderness far from urban development and traditional tourist routes.

Wildlife in Alberto de Agostini National Park

Besides glaciers and mountains, the region is home to a remarkable variety of wildlife. Depending on the season and weather conditions, visitors may observe sea lions, cormorants, petrels, albatrosses and other seabird species that inhabit the southern channels.

As a result, the Alberto de Agostini Glacier Tour combines glacier exploration, wildlife observation and breathtaking scenery in a single unforgettable experience.
