The Base Torres trek from Puerto Natales is one of the most famous hikes in Torres del Paine National Park. Firstly, it is part of the W Circuit, and its main highlight is the spectacular viewpoint at the base of the three granite towers. In addition, visitors can enjoy stunning Patagonian landscapes along the way.
The trek takes about 4 hours to ascend and 4 hours to return, making it a full-day adventure. Firstly, the trail starts at the Welcome Center in Estancia Las Torres. Then, you walk along Mount Almirante Nieto and the Ascencio River. Along the way, the scenery changes from Patagonian steppe to native forests. Finally, the last section is a 1 km climb through a moraine that leads to the Base Torres viewpoint.
Once you reach the viewpoint, you can enjoy incredible views of the granite towers and take memorable photos. Therefore, this trek combines effort with one of the most unforgettable experiences in Patagonia.
These rules ensure a safe and enjoyable experience even during Patagonia’s most extreme season.
