A Full Day Torres del Paine from Punta Arenas is one of the best ways to explore Patagonia in just one day. The tour runs all year round, and it combines guided visits with short walks to the park’s most famous highlights. First, you will stop at the Milodon Cave, a place where this prehistoric animal once lived. After that, you will enter Torres del Paine National Park, where each stop brings new landscapes and photo opportunities.
To begin with, you will visit Grey Beach, where icebergs often rest along the shore. In addition, you will admire the viewpoint of Lake Pehoé, a spot famous for its turquoise waters. Then, a short walk takes you to Salto Grande, a powerful waterfall surrounded by stunning scenery. Later, at Lake Nordenskjöld, you will enjoy panoramic views of the Paine mountain range. Finally, the tour ends at Laguna Amarga, with a unique view of the Torres peaks.
Torres del Paine is one of the 11 protected areas in the Magallanes and Chilean Antarctic Region. Together, these areas cover 51% of the entire region, more than 6.7 million hectares. The park was created in 1959 under the name “Lago Grey National Tourism Park.” Later, in 1978, UNESCO declared it a World Biosphere Reserve. As a result, it became one of the most iconic destinations in Chile and Patagonia.
If you want a more active experience, another option is the Trekking Base Torres del Paine, which allows you to hike directly to the base of the towers.
Passengers are picked up directly from their accommodations.
Stop in Puerto Natales to pick up passengers staying in the city, including a short stop at the waterfront.
Walk along an interpretive trail to the main cave of the natural monument, where remains of the Milodon and other extinct megafauna of the region were discovered.
Parada en la Portería Serrano, para validar o pagar la entrada al Parque Nacional.
Moderate-intensity walk to the beach, offering a distant view of Grey Glacier; occasionally, ice floes can be seen along the shore.
This area features one of the best panoramic views of the Paine Massif, with sights of Paine Grande, the Cuernos del Paine, and Mount Almirante Nieto.
We will take a 15-minute walk to reach Salto Grande, offering a closer view of the Cuernos del Paine. If the trail is closed due to weather conditions, the visit will be replaced with a stop at the Paine River Waterfall.
At Laguna Amarga, you will enjoy views of the Torres del Paine. A 15-minute stop is planned before starting the return to Puerto Natales.
Passengers staying in Puerto Natales are dropped off, and we then continue to Punta Arenas.
