About this tour

The whales, glaciers and penguins tour that goes through the Strait of Magellan contemplates visiting fjords and channels of great natural wealth. Visits to Santa Inés Island Glaciers, Barbara Channel, Carlos III Island and Whale gulf. Sightings of whales and other marine mammals and birds.

Humpback whales are a cosmopolitan and highly migratory species. According to the International Whaling Commission, a population of 10,000 specimens is estimated for part of the southern hemisphere. A part of the whale population travels annually to the Francisco Coloane Park to feed during the austral summer and autumn. The first marine park created in Chile, located between Santa Inés and Riesco Islands and the Brunswick Peninsula, it is an area of high biological productivity, where within its limits there are resting colonies of southern fur seals, killer whales, breeding sites for common sea lions and Magellanic penguins, as well as skuas, carancas and other aquatic birds.

Today, I went to the beach front with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!
